We prepare the driveway for paving by first excavating and removing frost rocks that would push up through your driveway over the winter. Laying the proper amount of class A gravel to provide a hard base to pave on. We make sure we have the proper grade on our gravel before we lay the asphalt with the paver. String lines are run for straight edges. When we leave you will be looking at a professional paving job, we both will be proud of.

This involves laying a layer of asphalt over the existing asphalt surface. This is mostly done for leveling and should not be laid over asphalt that is failed or in poor condition.

When portions of a large paved surface fail, (circular cracks in asphalt called alligator cracking means the asphalt has failed) A more long term or permanent fix would be to cut out this area, remove the asphalt and repair any soft spots in the base with a class A gravel. Clean edges of cutout walls, tack edges or apply TOK adhesive tape to bond both surfaces together. Put asphalt at a depth equal to or grader than the existing asphalt.

Asphalt curbs are formed with a curb machine , the asphalt is put into a hopper and is compacted and formed to the selected mold design into a continuous asphalt curb.

Cracks in asphalt allow water in and this can cause undermining and heaving in the winter. The solution is to fill the cracks with Hot Rubber.
